Top hits of the summer season

Did you take your horse down the Old Town Road this summer? How about take a DNA test? This summer was filled with tons of songs with catchy phrases. The app Tik Toc took over this summer, with three of the top ten summer songs being Tik Toc famous. Unlike last year, this year’s chart has a variety of artists and a widespread set of musical genres.
Without further ado, here are your 2019 Top Songs of the Summer, according to Billboard’s Top Songs of the Summer chart from September 7:

10. “Suge” – DaBaby
For spending 26 weeks on the Billboard Top 100 Chart, “Suge” is finishing this summer ranking in at number ten on the summer chart. “Suge” became DaBaby’s first song on the Billboard charts peaking at number seven on the Top 100. The song was the lead single off of DaBaby’s debut album, Baby on Baby.

9. “No Guidance” – Chris Brown feat. Drake
Chris Brown and Drake are no strangers to the Billboard charts. “No Guidance”, the fourth single from Brown’s latest album, Indigo, debuted at number nine on the Billboard Top 100. The song became Brown’s 15th Top 10 and Drake’s 34th Top 10. “No Guidance” is finishing this summer ranking in at number nine on the summer chart.

8. “Sunflower” – Post Malone and Swae Lee
The lead song for Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse blew up this summer. Debuting at number nine on the Billboard Top 100 and peaking at number one, “Sunflower” is finishing this summer ranking in at number eight on the summer chart. The song became Malone’s third and Lee’s first to top the Billboard chart.

7. “Sucker” – The Jonas Brothers
The comeback hit, “Sucker,” became the Jonas Brothers first number one on the Top 100. The song even debuted at number one. After a six year hiatus, the song was the lead single off their latest album Happiness Begins. “Sucker” is finishing this summer ranking in at number seven on the summer chart.

6. “Senorita” – Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this steamy duo show their amazing vocal skills on a track together. “Senorita”, will be finishing this summer ranking in at number six on the summer chart. The song is at number two on the Billboard Top 100, after peaking at number one. The song has been on the charts for 14 weeks, being the shortest ran song out of the top summer songs. “Senorita” became Mendes’s first number one and Cabello’s second.

5. “Truth Hurts” – Lizzo
The song that created Lizzo and is actually two years old, “Truth Hurts” is finishing this summer ranking in at number five on the summer charts. The song debuted at number 50 on the Top 100 chart and recently has spent four weeks at number one, becoming the longest-leading rap number one by a female artist, dethroning Cardi B with “Bodak Yellow”’s three week reign.

4. “I Don’t Care” – Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber
The lead single off of Ed Sheeran’s latest collaboration project, No. 6, “I Don’t Care” teamed up with Justin Beiber and debuted at number two on the Top 100. The song marks the fourth collaboration between the two. “I Don’t Care” is finishing this summer ranking in at number four on the summer charts.

3. “Talk” – Khalid
Spending 33 weeks and counting on the Billboard Top 100, “Talk” is finishing this summer ranking in at number three on the summer charts. The song was the lead single for Khalid’s latest album, Free Spirit. “Talk” has peaked at number three on the Top 100.

2. “Bad Guy” – Billie Eilish
“Bad Guy” was the breakout song for Billie Eilish even though it was the fifth single off her debut album, When We All Go To Sleep, Where Do We Go?. The song debuted at number seven on the Top 100, marking Eilish’s first Top 10 song. “Bad Guy” is still killing it as it has spent 26 weeks and counting on the Top 100, and even dethroned recording breaking 19 week number one hit song, “Old Town Road.” The song is finishing this summer ranking in at number two on the summer charts.

“Old Town Road Remix” – Lil Nas X feat. Billy Ray Cyrus
This is not the original song; this is “Old Town Road Remix” with Billy Ray Cyrus. The song broke the record for the longest running number one hit on the Top 100 for 19 weeks (April-August), beating out Mariah Carey and Lil Fonsi with their hits running for 16 weeks. “Old Town Road Remix” was the second out of a number of remixes released and was the lead single off of Lil Nas X’s debut EP, 7. This historic song is finishing this summer ranking in at number one on the summer charts.
