With the fall season here, one of the most exciting things for some is the clothing they can finally whip out of their wardrobes. It is finally chilly enough to start pulling out sweaters, jeans, long sleeves, and boots. For some, it’s important to stay as updated as they can on the latest fashion trends. So, what are some of the new Fall 2020 trends in the fashion industry?

As the temperature starts to drop, many are layering their clothes. Denim jackets have been a very popular choice among many. They are typically worn over graphic tees, hoodies, or sometimes simple colored shirts. Most of the time, denim jackets are seen worn with leggings or pants with a color differing from the wash of the jacket. Yet recently, it’s become more popular for people to wear their denim jackets with denim jeans as well. This look is often referred to as a “canadian tuxedo.” It has gained popularity after several celebrities have been seen wearing this look.

The sky continues to get darker and so do many people’s clothing. Typically during the fall, people choose to wear darker and more monotone colors. These often include browns, blacks, greys, maroons, and deeper, darker toned clothing. 

As for high schoolers, it’s been very popular among some to wear looser fit jeans. These can include for females- mom jeans, and for males- a straight leg cut jean. These jeans can be dressed with really any type of top and shoes. Graphic tees have made a large comeback along with grommet belts, and white shoes.

Regardless of the fact that we are getting near to snow and slushy weather, many still choose to wear white shoes in order to complete their look. Some popular shoe choices are Nike AF1’s, slip-on Vans, Converse, and etc. 

Whether it be 2020 or 1978, flannels will always be a go to and almost everyone has at least one somewhere in their closet. Flannels go with just about anything, which is why so many people own them. They are typically viewed as a more fall/winter article of clothing because they usually have darker colored patterns. If you were to go just about anywhere at this time of year, you would most likely end up seeing at least one person wearing a flannel. They have become a lot more popular in recent years to pair with a hoodie or denim jacket underneath. Flannels are a true icon of fall fashion.

The best way to rock fall fashion though, is to wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and happy. There is no need to commit to any “trends” just because they may be popular.
