New year, new me

The long year of 2020 is finally over, and 2021 is bringing in hope for a better year. This is a year that people across the globe  are hoping to find some sort of improvement to  bring into their lives, and 2021or people will finally start over and officially put 2020 in behind.. The start of the new year traditionally brings resolutions, and they are going to be more important than ever as people overcome the struggles of 2020. 

Resolutions this year may look different from previous years. The year 2020 brought many challenges that people want to move on from and take what they learned from the year’s hardships to better themselves. Today, people are finding that they want to be happier this year and be more appreciative of the simple things in life that are often taken for granted, such as their friends, family, and health. Some common resolutions for 2021 are to be happy, work on relationships – whether it’s with friends or family – and maintain a healthy lifestyle. However, every year people find themselves forgetting about their resolutions a few weeks after they make them. So, how can you accomplish your goals for the new year?

It’s best to start simple. I like to start every year by creating a list of what I accomplished in the previous year, so I can see what I still would like to work on for the next. This is also important to do just so you can remind yourself of what you accomplished, and allow yourself to feel proud. It is the perfect way to get excited for the new year. 

Now that you know what you may not have accomplished the previous year, you can see if these goals are still applicable to you for the new year and figure out how you can overcome anything that may have stood in the way. It is a good idea to make a plan as to how you can accomplish these goals for the new year and see what you can do differently from the previous year. You should never get down on yourself for not accomplishing goals from the previous year, remember it is a new year, as there is now a fresh start to achieve them. 

You should also add some new goals for yourself for the new year. These goals will motivate you to try new things and maybe push you out of your comfort zone a little bit. It is always important to set new goals for yourself so you can improve your way of living. Remember, there is always room for improvement and these new goals will spice up your life. 

Along with planning how you can successfully tackle your goals, figure out how you can incorporate them into your day-to-day life. Whether that is setting reminders in your phone or putting your list of goals somewhere you will see it every day. This prevents you from forgetting about your resolutions right away and it’s a nice daily reminder. 

Most importantly, stay positive. Tell yourself that you will tackle your resolutions no matter what. Be optimistic that 2021 will be your year and it will be different from 2020. This is a year for all new beginnings and a fresh start. Let’s welcome the new year with a happy mindset.
