The mellophone musician

Senior Andrew Fedor is a student that will be greatly missed in the halls of Bellefonte High. He is someone who has left a mark on our community through his kindness and adventurous spirit. In his free time, he plays the mellophone in Marching Band and he is a member of National Honor Society (NHS).
Andrew is currently unsure of what he would like to do in his future, so he will be taking a gap year, and then possibly going to college.
“I’m still not sure of what college, but I plan to study graphic design, art, photography, or business,” he said.
Band Director and music teacher Mr. Caleb Rebarchak has had Andrew as a student and values his studious personality. Andrew is a student who always arrives to class with a great attitude and is ready to learn.
“Andrew is an incredibly thoughtful student who takes time in his responses and is incredibly observant. There are many times in class where he would make an observation that I wouldn’t have expected from a student. This also goes for his funny remarks, which again, would come at unexpected times,” Mr. Rebarchak said.
Andrew has a love for music like no other, and he shares this passion with everyone, including Mr. Rebarchak. He carries this passion with him to class every day.
“Andrew likes to share things with me that apply to what we learn or have discussed in class. It’s obvious that he doesn’t just think about these concepts in class, but applies things to what he listens to and watches on his own. He also recommends music to me that he enjoys, which I always appreciate – and he’ll usually connect it to something we’ve done in class,” Mr. Rebarchak said.
Aside from school, Andrew spends a lot of time with his friends. He is always up for an adventure, and he typically spends much of his time with his best friend, senior Mykayla Cole. Together, they enjoy listening to their favorite musicians.
“My favorite memory has to be this summer in general, driving and screaming out Billie Eilish and Sia songs,” Mykayla said.
She has always valued their friendship, and how caring Andrew is for his friends. He is someone anyone can count on to be there.
“Andrew has so many amazing qualities. He takes time to get to know you, and understand who you are. He’s protective of those he cares about. He always truly puts a smile on your face, and he always pushes you to be the best you can be, even when you’re down,” Mykayla said.
Another of Andrew’s best friends, senior Morgan Goodman, has known Andrew since they were in kindergarten, and they have been inseparable since.
“When we met in kindergarten on the bus, he offered to share his seat with me when no else would,” Morgan said.
This simple act of kindness is the perfect representation of who Andrew is, he is always helping out his peers, even if he has just met them. He is a friendly face here at Bellefonte High, and he will be greatly missed.
