Creekside Rocks and Gems is a new store in Bellefonte, located on 110 North Allegheny Street. Their inventory includes things from jewelry to rocks to gems, ranging in price from $0.50 to $300. All items are homemade. The business is family owned, by Luke Laubscher and his wife Kitty.

Over the time since its opening, the business has improved in many ways and has conquered many challenges. The couple has prepared a lot for this opening have been waiting for years for a permanent place.

“We first started out doing craft shows and flea markets for years. We wanted a more stable place for the shop,” Luke said.  “It came down to finding a place, being able to afford it, and taking a leap of faith.”

An article in the Centre Daily Times reports that Luke first became involved in the business of selling gemstones because his grandmother taught him about the beauty of these rocks when he was young. More information is also available in that article, to help you understand more about why Luke Laubscher and Kitty opened their crystal shop.

Luke and Kitty opened this store together, to sell their findings to people. Selling  and seeing people enjoying their purchases makes them happy. They also like speaking to new people and making them feel at home in their store. The couple started their business with searching for and collecting unique items.

“My wife and I have traveled around the world for all our rocks and gems.”

The couple has traveled to many places, with one of them being Canada. They got a wide variety of products from  many places in and out of the country. Most of their products were not easy to find. It took them years to find all of them.

The store has something for everyone. Even if you are not interested in rocks or gems, you can buy jewelry. The jewelry is hand made out of a variety of different materials. For example, they have hematite necklaces. Necklaces are not the only jewelry there, they also have earrings as well.
