The latest and hottest tech products have been difficult to get ahold of in 2021. The Playstation, Xbox and iPhone 13 are three such items that have been the hardest to come by during the holiday season.

PS5

The Playstation 5 made by Sony Interactive Entertainment came out on November 12, 2020, according to What Hi Fi.  In the USA, you can buy a Playstation 5 at Amazon, Target, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and GameStop. The PS5 is part of the ninth generation of video game consoles. There is a base and digital edition. The base edition cost $499 and the digital edition cost $399. The difference between the two is you can’t use discs with the digital version instead you have to buy all your games online. The PS5 comes with 8y5 gigabytes of storage which ends up being only 667.2 gigabytes of storage after the system software.

Xbox Series X

The release of the Xbox series X, the newest console to come out, was November 10, 2020. There has been an extreme shortage of the production of the console. This has been due to the GPU inside of the console. This chip is an AMD GPU, the reason for the shortage of the chip was the company was not ready for this high demand. The price of the Xbox Series X is $499.99. Another issue why this console is so hard to get is because bots have been buying them as soon as they restock, according to IGN. These same bots are then putting up the console on other websites for up to double the price. This is causing real buyers to wait till the next release, or buy the console for a higher price. Many websites have implemented a one Xbox per person limit. This is to restrain the bots from buying more than one console. This shortage has already lasted a year, but now most experts are expecting this shortage to last into 2022. 

iPhone 13

Introduced in September of 2021 the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini, available in five separate colors are the latest version of Apple’s mobile phone. The new phone is available in the normal or pro version, with a 6.1 inch screen, flat edges, similar to the older iPhone’s, and an aluminum cased glass screen. Since pre-ordering began it has been difficult to get the phone in store without having to wait for shipping. The lineup of phones for the 13 is similar to the lineup of the iPhone 12 with small differences including new colors available, dual-lens camera on the back, a smaller camera and speaker notch on the screen and improved camera on all models.

According to macrumors.com all of the new phone models are 5G compatible and have an improved A15 chip, which is powered by a 6-core CPU, 4-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine. The phone features a ceramic glass screen that is water, scratch and dust resistant. The new phone has options to change the screen’s appearance to vibrant, contrasting, warm or cool, one can also customize the tones the phone makes.
