Bellefonte’s athletes take their talent to the next level

On March 26, nine of Bellefonte’s very own senior athletes signed their commitment to each of their chosen colleges. Here are their responses to questions regarding their planned future in college.

Volleyball at Bloomsburg University

Majoring in Secondary Education

Q:Why did you decide to continue your athletic career?

A: I decided to continue my athletic career because of how much love and joy I get from playing volleyball.

Q:Why did you choose this college? What did you like the most about it?

A: I chose this college because of the beautiful campus, amazing academic program, and their amazing athletic program.

Lacrosse at Mount Aloysius College 

Majoring in Environmental Science 

Q:Why did you decide to continue your athletic career?

A: I love lacrosse so much and since it has been such a big part of my life since elementary school, I never wanted to stop playing.

Q:Why did you choose this college? What did you like the most about it?

A: It is small but such a close knit community and I love the community and atmosphere there. I love the size and convenience to my hometown.

Gymnastics at Kent State

Majoring in Exercise Science

Q:Why did you decide to continue your athletic career?

A: I have always wanted to do college gymnastics since I was a little girl and when they offered me a spot it was a dream come true.

Q:Why did you choose this college? What did you like the most about it?

A: The reason I chose Kent was because of the amazing coaching staff and team atmosphere. What I liked most was how close the team was and how it felt like family.

Soccer at Lancaster Bible College

Majoring in Criminal Justice

Q:Why did you decide to continue your athletic career?

A: I love playing soccer and college was the next step in my career. I hope to play as long as I possibly can.

Q:Why did you choose this college? What did you like the most about it?

A: I chose this college simply because it feels like a family. At LBC everyone becomes very close and we will make relationships that last a lifetime

Q:Why did you decide to continue your athletic career?

A: I decided to continue my athletic career because wrestling is fun and I love it.

Q:Why did you choose this college? What did you like the most about it?

A: I chose Penn because of the host of opportunities, both on and off the mat, which will aid me in my growth and development. I believe that it is the best possible option for me, aligning with my values and in accordance with what my plan for my future is. I think the thing I like the most about Penn is the Chipotle right off campus.

Q:Why did you decide to continue your athletic career?

A: I love playing and competing in the game of golf and want to continue to do so as long as I can.

A: I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity.

A: They chose me and I liked the school. I love the atmosphere and the determination to win within the program.

Wrestling at Franklin and Marshall

Majoring in PreMed

Q:Why did you decide to continue your athletic career?

A: I love the sport of wrestling and I have goals to accomplish at the college level. I wasn’t ready to be done wrestling this year.

Q:Why did you choose this college? What did you like the most about it?

A: I chose this college because it has a small division 1 wrestling program and a very good PreMed program. I also like the overall smaller size of the college

Majoring in Aviation Business Management

Q:Why did you decide to continue your athletic career?

A: I decided to continue my athletic career because of the love I have for the sport. Football has meant a lot to me my entire life. When I was given the opportunity to continue playing for 4 more years I could not pass it up.

Q:Why did you choose this college? What did you like the most about it?

A: I chose to go attended Geneva College due to it being the best college for my major in the state. I like the fact it is a smaller college so it can provide a more personal education for me.
