Saying Goodbye

Ethan Struble, Staff Reporter

Well, this is it: my four years at the high school have finally reached their end. What was supposed to be a long four years seemed to go by in a blink of an eye. I remember walking through the school doors on the first day of high school, thinking to myself, “what did I get myself into? How am I going to do this?” I won’t lie, at first I was nervous, going from middle school to high school seemed like a big jump, and I did not know what to expect. But thankfully the teachers made it an easy transition for me, and I found the right crowd to spend my four years with. I would like to thank some people and provide some advice for the underclassmen.

I would like to thank the teachers and the staff here at the high school. The teachers are a huge part of any student’s high school experience, they sure were a huge part of mine. They are incredible people and they don’t get enough credit. They have helped me academically and made me who I am today. Also, they don’t get enough credit when they have to deal with students year in and year out. Make sure to say thanks to your teachers, you may think it doesn’t mean a lot, but it will to them.

I would also like to thank my friends and family for supporting me through this tough journey. They helped me bring my spirits up when I was down in the dumps. You made me laugh and smile and I would not trade those memories for anything.

In my time at the school I was not too involved with school activities, I was only involved in a few. But now that I am graduating I regret not being more involved in school. I strongly suggest joining clubs and being more involved – especially journalism. Journalism is for anybody; you write stories for the school and have a good time doing it. You also get to annoy Jessica Lloyd too, so it’s a win win.

Also make sure you take the SAT, ACT, AP’s and all the other standardized tests. Get those out of the way before senior year, prepare yourself for the future now rather than later. I didn’t and that is one of my biggest regrets.

You underclassmen, right now you’re probably just waiting until you graduate so you can leave the high school. I know I was the same way, but before you know it you’ll be graduating. I know I would do anything to go back. Stay strong, you’ll make it through high school, just have fun while you do it.
