BHS senior Liberty Fike is a dedicated student and athlete who is hardworking in every aspect of her life. Her friends not only describe her as hardworking but also caring, thoughtful, loving, and kind.

Senior Erin Cronin sees Liberty as always having a smile on her face and being someone she can lean on in any situation.

“I would describe Liberty as a caring and dedicated person who works hard to achieve her goals and does so while also being a loving and kind individual,” Erin said.

Throughout her time at the high school Liberty’s favorite class is English with Mrs. Jessica Lloyd.

“My favorite class would have to be English because I love reading and understanding new ways to create better essays,” Liberty said.

Outside of school, Liberty is involved in soccer and FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America). Liberty has been involved in soccer for her entire four years at the Bellefonte High School and received her varsity letter. She also was awarded most improved during the soccer season.

“I got involved in [soccer] because I love the fast paced game and I love the environment that we created as a team,” Liberty said.

One of Liberty’s friends and soccer teammate senior Madyson Hockenberry reflects on her friendship with Liberty by saying how Liberty is a hardworking individual who is always enthusiastic and excited.

“She cares about other people and always tends to lead herself in a direction that will be best for everyone. She is thoughtful and caring. Her overall personality strictly compliments mine, we just fit together,” Madyson said.

Liberty joined FBLA her junior year as a requirement for the business class she was in at the time and she’s fallen in love with the club since then. Last year, she competed in the Broadcast Journalism event with her partner Olivia Aberegg and made it to States where they placed ninth.

FBLA advisor, Mrs. Rebecca Leitzell, expresses the asset that Liberty has been to FBLA.

“As Liberty’s FBLA Adviser, I get to see Liberty outside of the traditional classroom setting. Liberty is responsible, thoughtful, courteous, and is fun to be around. She is also a diligent worker and that has paid off for her in FBLA,” Mrs. Leitzell said.

After graduation Liberty plans to attend Lock Haven University to major in media and journalism. The inspiration for her major came from competing in the broadcast journalism event in FBLA.
