Her students describe her as a sweet, smart, and a lovely teacher. They always feel comfortable around her and know she is an excellent teacher. Her name is Mrs. Sarah Bryan.
Mrs. Bryan teaches English for the Sophomore class and Bellefonte Area High School (BAHS). She has been teaching at BAHS for two years, and overall has been teaching for three. She attended Virginia Tech University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in English and minored in Cinema. Then, she went to Penn State where she earned her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction.
“English was my favorite subject in school,” Mrs. Bryan said. “I’m an avid reader and love to write, so I wanted to teach to help others (hopefully) discover that same love I have for the subject. I had some pretty great teachers who inspired me to go into the profession (shoutout to Ms. Momenzadeh) too.”
Mrs. Bryan has a great relationship with her students. She has a positive atmosphere to her that draws people to love her.
“She’s such an incredible teacher and role model. Her classroom has the best energy and it’s definitely one of my favorite classes because of her,” Sophomore Madelyn Christie said
BAHS as a whole has also welcomed her with open arms in the past two years. She also has enjoyed her time here and feels at home in the district.
“I adore Bellefonte. Everyone–students and teachers–were welcoming from my very first day and continue to be. There’s a true community feel here.” She said. “I love that BASD (Bellefonte Area School District) encourages growth. We are provided with many opportunities to grow in our practice through professional development days and collaboration with each other. Additionally, I love that BASD works hard to instill a love of reading in students. There is an evident reading culture throughout the entire district.”
Mrs. Bryan will always have a special place in everyone’s heart who has had the pleasure of knowing her.
