In the last few weeks of summer before school started, the seniors of the class of 2024 were able to paint their parking spots for the first time ever. The Bellefonte Student Council introduced this idea this year as a fundraiser for Mini Thon. The students had a unique opportunity to make their own personal design and create it in their own parking spot.
When creating designs for their parking spots, senior Taylor Henry was inspired by cow print.
“I really liked the cow print idea and the writing and how it matched the design,” Taylor said.
Senior Taylor Henry’s favorite part of the day was hanging out with her friends and family and watching the designs progress and come to life.
The whole purpose of this project was to raise money for Mini Thon and The Four Diamonds Fund to help research and find a cure for pediatric cancer. Student Council earned $630 towards pediatric cancer.
History and AP Psychology teacher Mrs. Christine Morris is in charge of the Student Council this year.
“My favorite part of this event was seeing all the creativity that was exhibited in each design. I think that our students did a great job reflecting on what they think is important to them in their designs,” Mrs. Morris said.
Overall the first year of painting parking spots was very successful and everyone is looking forward to continuing this again next year.
