Seymour sees more

At Bellefonte Area High School (BAHS), Mr. Sean Seymour helps students follow their dreams and guide them to success. He is a building substitute and he also serves in other schools in the district. Students all across BAHS and even adults across the district love Mr. Seymour for all of the hard work and time he has given up from his days.
Mr. Seymour is originally from California where he went to school at Ernest Righetti High School. He did one extracurricular activity being in a video production class. This was one of the only options Seymour had as his mom would not let him participate in any sports
“My mom would not allow me to play sports in school because my father got injured pretty badly playing football and baseball,” Seymour said.
Seymour had a couple of different options as to where to go and pursue his career which ultimately led him to BAHS where he has enjoyed his time helping students improve in things they never thought they would be good at or enjoy.
“I love being here, working with students, making connections with them, and getting the students excited about subjects that they wouldn’t think they would enjoy!” Seymour said.
The students, staff, and even parents of the students are all very appreciative of Mr. Seymour’s hard work and leadership in the classroom has been brought to his attention as he is grateful for all of the support.
“Seeing students understand things and seeing the support and appreciation from all over the staff is definitely very rewarding to me.”
Classes are usually brought to life when he is in them whether it be a normal class, a study hall, or PE class. Mr. Seymour finds ways to connect with students and help them when they need it. Mr. Seymour also finds ways to make classes fun and entertaining by making jokes, talking with students about their interests, or making up or finding fun games to do.
BAHS sophomore, Isaac Gall, really enjoys having classes with Mr. Seymour and he is Isaac’s favorite substitute in the entire Bellefonte school district.
“When I find out Mr. Seymour is a sub for any of my classes. I look forward to that class because he always finds ways to make classes fun and interesting,” Isaac said.
Mr. Seymour is also a very respectful and encouraging person, when people need someone to talk to or just go to Mr. Seymour for something he’s always ready to help.
“I have so much appreciation for Mr. Seymour because he is very easy to talk to and will listen to anything you have to say, along with being very understanding,” Isaac said
In a couple years or maybe even sooner, you could possibly see Mr. Seymour in one of your Social Studies classes here at BAHS. His dream is one day become a teacher in the Social Studies department continuing to brighten students and staff’s days everyday until he is no longer teaching.
