Setting herself up for success

Bellefonte Area High School’s (BAHS) senior volleyball player, Carlee Pepperman, puts her all when she steps on the court. Her contribution to the team is an important piece to their success, as well as being a role model for other players off the court.
Carlee quickly found volleyball to be her sport when she started playing at the age of 12, and has given countless hours of effort to her skills since. Her dedication and hard work ethic as an athlete has given her the opportunity to play volleyball in college. She plans to continue her academic and athletic career at Allegheny College.
Carlee is a six rotation outside hitter holding the current team record of 221 digs. However, her favorite position to play is back row as she increases her hitting percentage of 0.286 every game. She helps lead the team by her diligence, skillful plays, and her ability to hold her teammates and herself accountable in game. Coaches and teammates respect Carlee’s constant effort in all positions she plays, as she is constantly improving and keeping herself focused and undistracted.
Head Coach, Monica Smith, describes Carlee as a very experienced player who has high standards of herself and teammates.
“She has always been one of our leading offensive weapons but what people realize as much is that she also leads our defense and keeps the ball off the floor,” Coach Smith said.
Carlee is a very inspiring player as she not only has a great relationship with her teammates, but she has been an asset for the team’s offense during games. Teammates feel as if Carlee has a big influence on and off the court. She is just as hard working in school as she is in game. Underclassmen who will continue playing will always remember her love for the sport, and how she performed.
With her final highschool season coming to a close, Carlee feels the bittersweetness of leaving her team behind, and moving onto her next chapter in life.
