Physical Education (PE) and Health teacher Mr. Joshua Diehl has been a great addition to this school’s staff throughout his 13 years teaching here. He has helped many students, other staff members, and overall this entire school and community.
Not only do the other teachers enjoy Mr. Diehl’s company here, but so do the students. Freshman Ashten Howell met Mr. Diehl during his first year at the high school.
“I really enjoy having Mr. Diehl as my Back to Nature teacher and he’s a really nice teacher who is also really good at actually teaching me and helping me fully understand the stuff that we go over in class.”
Ashten is not the only student who enjoys having Mr. Diehl as a teacher. Sophomore Jack McHail has really liked having Mr. Diehl in PE class.
“I look forward to having gym class with Mr. Diehl because he is always super nice and usually plays the games that we are doing that day with us. I also likes how he explains the game that we are doing quickly so that we have the most time that we can to actually have fun,” sophomore Jack McHail said.
With all of the active things that Mr. Diehl does as a teacher, like PE games and Back to Nature activities, it is not hard to believe that Mr. Diehl is an avid outdoorsman in his free time and really enjoys doing nature-centered activities.
“Some of my favorite hobbies to do outside of school are racing my dirtbike, hunting, fishing, and skiing,” he said.
Mr. Diehl has always been enthusiastic about working with his students and making a change in the building. He looks forward to coming into work every day to encourage kids to stay active and push themselves in school, which what inspired him to start teaching in the first place.
“I enjoy working with youth and sharing my passion with them. I find so much enjoyment out of sports and I want others to feel the same.”
Mr. Diehl is a very active guy and spends a lot of time outdoors with his friends. One friend is a teacher here at Bellefonte High, business teacher Mr. Andrew Weigold.
“Mr. Diehl and I like to do a lot of things together. We go skiing together, we ride dirt bikes together, and because we have both done these things from a young age its a lot of fun for the both of us,” Mr. Weigold said.
Overall, Mr. Diehl has been a great role model for the students, staff, and overall community. Whether he is in the classroom or outdoors, he has made a positive impact on Bellefonte as a whole.
