Braedyn Kormanic (BK) is a senior here at Bellefonte High. He is going to attend college at Delaware Valley University to take up a degree in Agribusiness and play baseball there as well. Braedyn is also in Future Farmers of America (FFA) and makes a big impact on the club.
Agriculture teacher Mrs. Myken Poorman is the advisor of FFA, giving us some background on FFA.
“FFA is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premiere leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education,” she said.
Mrs. Poorman talks very highly of Braedyn and his involvement in FFA.
“Braedyn is our treasurer but he also is on our leadership team. Being the treasurer carries a lot of duties, especially when we have fundraisers. He does an excellent job and keeps our books in check. He volunteers for community service events like Operation Christmas Child box packing and competes in our local competitions.”
Braedyn likes to advertise agriculture and the connections being made in FFA.
“I like being able to advertise agriculture, which is something for everyone to be concerned about and the connections with the people you make in FFA.”
Braeydn is also committed to Delaware Valley University to play baseball and he will be majoring in Agribusiness, which encompasses the economic sectors for farming and farming-related commerce.
“I chose Delval because of the programs that are available there and so I could also play baseball at the collegiate level. A big bonus was that the campus is a good size. It’s not that big which I like in a college campus.”
Senior Trevor Johnson witnessesBraedyn’s hard work, dedication, and his impact on his teammates and friends.
“Braedyn’s hard work and dedication has inspired so many others. He shows up every day to practice ready to work. This sets the tone for everyone else wanting to follow in his footsteps. Braedyn is not only a good leader, but a good person. I appreciate having him as a friend and a teammate.”
Braedyn is leaving a positive impact on his fellow peers and underclassmen. His hard work and dedication in the classroom, on the diamond, and in FFA has helped him become the leader he is today.
