A Bellefonte favorite, Pelican’s SnoBalls reopened last month for the spring and summer seasons, bringing excitement to community members of all ages.
With over 100 flavors and custom combinations, the SnoBalls shop has quickly become a hot spot for teenagers, children, and even adults looking for a sweet or sour treat.
During the spring months, local teams like girls lacrosse unite at Pelican’s for events such as celebrating and team bonding. With endless flavors and combinations there is surely something for everyone to enjoy. Though they specialize in SnoBalls, this location has recently announced that they will now be offering milkshakes called “Pelishakes” in any of their available flavors.
The Pelican’s environment is very suitable for everyone. With seating both inside and outside, customers can enjoy time with their children, and friends,while also snacking on a SnoBalls.
“I’ve gone to Pelican’s with my mom a few times over the summer and it was nice to be able to sit outside near the park,” sophomore Grace Novosel said.
A few times a year, local school districts including Bellefonte High hand out discount coupons for Pelican’s SnoBalls to students as prizes. Several Bellefonte students work at Pelican’s as well.
Since opening this location last year, they have created two new combinations inspired by a local favorite, Penn State University Football. The new flavors are called “The Blue & White”, and “The We Are.” In the past they have also made monthly flavors based on holidays like St. Patrick’s Day and the Fourth of July.
“My favorite flavor to get is cotton candy,” Grace said.
Pelican’s SnoBalls is quickly becoming a staple to the Bellefonte community. The comfortable atmosphere is suitable for all ages and accommodates everyone. With several sizes and over a hundred flavors, customers have the freedom to order their own SnoBall combination, whether that is flavors, ice cream stuffed SnoBalls, whipped cream, or toppings. The property is located near Tallyrand park, which not only attracts customers, but also allows easy access for them to sit outside.
Overall Pelican’s SnoBalls is a very family friendly environment that is also attractive to teenagers, adults, and anyone seeking a cold treat.
