Luke Combs’ Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old Tour launched in Milwaukee on April 12, before making its highly anticipated appearance at Happy Valley at Beaver Stadium on April 27. Marking it only the stadium’s second concert following Blake Shelton’s performance in 2017, Combs’ fans turned out in record-breaking numbers, delivering an unforgettable experience for all.
Combs’ journey in the music industry traces back to his roots in North Carolina, where his passion for songwriting began at a young age. He then attended Appalachian State University, only to later drop out and veer to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue music wholeheartedly. In 2014, Luke Combs marked his musical debut releasing his first song “The Way She Rides,” setting the stage for a career that would soon captivate audiences worldwide. It wasn’t long after, he released his first album in 2017.
The Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old Tour marked a milestone in Combs’ career, making it his fourth tour following his extremely successful Luke Combs World Tour in 2023. With each tour, Combs continues to cement his place as one of the best in the country music industry, as he captivates audiences with his authentic storytelling and soul-stirring melodies.

Bringing with him on the tour, Combs had artists Colby Acuff, Drew Parker, Mitchell Tenpenny, and Jordan Davis performing alongside him. Combs’ stellar opening acts had many fans arriving early and packing the seats setting themselves up for an unforgettable night.
“I think the opening acts were amazing! Jordan Davis was definitely my favorite, he’s another one of my favorite artists and he was even better in person,” BAHS Secretary Ms. Kiersten Walker said.
After the opening acts were over with, the crowd was full of enthusiasm from the get-go, setting the stage for Combs’ much-awaited appearance.
As Combs stepped onto the stage, the opening sounds of “The Kind of Love We Make” filled the air, instantly electrifying the crowd.
“I think it was the perfect song to come out to. It’s one of his best songs in my opinion and hearing the crowd all sing along from the beginning just speaks to the atmosphere that was there,” Grace said.
Combs continued to enchant the audience with a string of his biggest hits, including “Fast Car,” “Beautiful Crazy,” “Going, Going, Gone,” “One Number Away,” and many more. As the music filled Beaver Stadium, the over 80,000 fans in attendance joined in all at once, singing along to every word. The atmosphere was electric as Combs delivered a performance that will be remembered for years to come.
“My favorite part of the concert was singing along with my fiance to one of her favorite songs. In the past the song has held some bad memories for her and to create one that was happy and she will remember forever was definitely my favorite part of the day,” Ms. Walker said.
Despite the rain and bad weather, the 80,000 fans in attendance did not disappoint and created an atmosphere that will be hard to match. Most importantly, fans were able to be a part of a record breaking concert and were able to create many memories that will last a lifetime.
