Most people do not have a set path after high school, but former Bellefonte High student Logan Williams knew what he wanted to be from a young age.
Logan graduated from BAHS in 2023, receiving awards for lacrosse, football, academics, and National Honor Society. In February of 2023, he announced his commitment to further his athletic and academic career at Juniata College, officially retiring his “Raider Pride,” in exchange for “Fly Eagles, Fly.” As a multi-sport athlete, Logan chose to take his football career with him to the next level.
“It has been my dream to play college football since I was six,” Logan said.
As a starter, Logan plays on the defensive side of the ball, at strong safety. After recently beating the Hartwick Hawks, he is looking forward to the next game on his home turf.
“I chose to play football because I think it is the most fun sport in the world, and there is nothing more special than being a part of a team. One of my best memories is making my first collegiate tackle freshman year,” Logan said.
Going into his sophomore year, Logan searched for a field that included being outdoors, and working with wildlife. He is studying environmental science, and hopes to be a wildlife technician for either the Fish or Game Commission. Being on the field nearly five hours a day, Logan enjoys getting to camp and hanging out with friends and family in his spare time.
“I don’t have a lot of free time, but I enjoy fishing, hunting, and just being outside,” he said.
Logan ended his freshman year at Juniata by traveling across the country for a class. The objective was to journal observations of all national and state parks in the Southwest. During the trip, he traveled to Utah, Texas, Colorado, Missouri, Arizona, and New Mexico with a group of teammates and classmates to study, and explore wildlife. The group got to visit over 40 places in a span of three weeks. Logan cherishes this experience as he loved getting to be a part of the Western lifestyle while living in the deserts and mountains.
As he nears the halfway point of his sophomore year, Logan continues to accelerate on and off the field while managing difficult courses, pushing back the offense, and dealing with constant pressure. As Logan continues on his dreamed-up journey, friends, family, and six year old Logan continue to cheer him on from the sidelines.
