Former Bellefonte High graduate, Colin Edmonds, has had an interesting and eventful life in his time after high school. Although he graduated in 2018, he has been turning heads positively; his name still gets brought up regularly at Bellefonte High School.
The former student has been helping coach a travel baseball team, known as Baseball U, as a head coach. He is also in the construction business working endlessly. Colin has caught the attention of many people in this area including Mrs. Myken Poorman, an Agricultural Sciences teacher and Future Farmers of America (FFA) advisor at BAHS
“Colin was always a good student. He enjoyed my classes, so I’m sure that helped. He was very smart and liked getting opportunities for growth as a leader by doing activities in FFA,” Mrs. Poorman said.
Edmonds always has something going on whether it’s coaching baseball or helping construct a building, the man is occupied 24/7. Still, at this time in 2024 he is still connecting with former teachers.
“We’re members of the same country club, so I see Colin on the golf course a lot. We’ve even played a few rounds together. He knows my husband and son as well,” Mrs. Poorman said.
He reflected on some of his former peers that was a big part of his high school life.
“Throughout high school, teachers like Mrs. Poorman, Mr. Virgilio, and Mr. Finnefrock (CPI) had a significant impact on me,” Colin said.
Colin has been recognized as a dedicated worker in and out the classroom. For the Class of 2018 there were prestigious awards handed out, and Colin was the recipient of the Community Service Award and the Class of 1971 Memorial Award.
Needless to say, this is someone who has a passion for what they do. Colin has been working at 100% all the time. He continues to strive to accomplish more and more every day.
“My favorite part of BAHS would be the academics setting myself up for college and work,” he reflected.
