As Bellefonte grows and gains more fast food chain restaurants, it is time for Starbucks to enter the area. Once added, this would be the ninth Starbucks in Centre County, and would be a key addition for for Bellefonte High students. It is being placed inside of Weis on Buckaroo Lane as construction has just begun. It is expected to open in mid-November if all goes as planned.
As high school students, the main places to get your early morning coffee have been Dunkin’ and Bonfatto’s. This new opening of Starbucks excites students as many plan to make it their new “go-to” before school.
Senior Owen Cordon regularly goes to Bonfatto’s before school, which is out of the way for him. He is very excited to finally have a coffee shop he can stop in on the way to school.
“I’m so excited because there are no Starbucks in Bellefonte and there is finally one coming to town. I am also happy that we have more options to get our morning coffee,” Owen said.
Sophomore Yousef Maksemous has never tried Starbucks before, but is interested in trying it since there is one coming to town.
“I feel like everyone in Bellefonte really wants a Starbucks so I am happy it is here,” Yousef said.
Senior Ella Smith loves going to Starbucks and expresses her enthusiasm towards the new Starbucks opening.
“I think the new Starbucks will be good because students will not get to school late since it less of a drive from school, and Weis will gain more business from teenagers,” Ella said.
As construction updates continue to be announced, it is only a matter of time for Starbucks to open and officially make its way into Bellefonte.
