Over the past few weeks at Bellefonte High, students have been showing their school spirit. This includes all fall sports and spirit weeks.
To go along with school spirit, BAHS has been participating in themes at fall sporting events. This involves White Lies (volleyball), Hawaiian Night (football), and Black, White, and Pink Outs (football).
With the many different spirit day themes, lots of students have their favorites.
“My top three themes to dress up to are neon day, solid color day, and PJ day,” freshman Trevor Campbell-Tubbs said.
Though there are many different spirit day themes, students still have new theme ideas.
“I would make the music genres one we did this year for the parade a theme every year.” sophomore Althea Helms said.
Out of the many stores and places to get your themed outfits, students have their main go-to places.
“For where I get my stuff I usually start off with my closet, I almost always have something on theme. After that, if I really don’t have anything I go to stores like Target and Party City to find things to finish off an outfit,” freshman Lettie Lucas said.
Almost all BAHS spirit weeks go along with an important message or a big event. An example of these is Homecoming week and bullying prevention week.
The spirit themes for Homecoming Week were Country vs. Country Club, Rhyme without a Reason, PJ Day, Music day, and Blackout.
In October, Bullying Prevention week spirit themes were Unity Day (wear orange), Jersey Day, Dress Your Best, and Workout Day.
With football games, volleyball games, and school spirit weeks, it’s clear that BAHS students love to support their school and show their spirit.
