The 21-year-old American singer, songwriter, and actress Olivia Rodrigo recently released her world tour movie, “Olivia Rodrigo: GUTS World Tour,” on Netflix.
“Watch from the best seat in the house as Olivia Rodrigo spills her guts and sings her heart out during an electrifying and emotional performance in LA,” according to Netflix.
This is Olivia’s second movie release, the first being “Olivia Rodrigo: driving home 2 u (a SOUR film),” on Disney+. As fans loved her documentary about her first album “SOUR” they are glad to see a movie about her recent world tour “GUTS.”
“Not being able to go to the tour was a bummer, but this brought the experience right to us! For my best friend’s birthday, we made it a whole event—we watched it not once, but twice, and sang our hearts out at the top of our lungs! It was like having our own mini concert in the living room, and honestly, it’s a memory we’ll never forget. Perfect for anyone who missed out on the live show but still wants to feel all the excitement right from home,” a teen review from Common Sense Media.
While some fans couldn’t experience the tour in person, they enjoyed seeing her perform from the home screen. For the fans that could go, it’s like a different point of view from the actual concert.
“I remember being kind of in shock that this person I’ve seen go from a Disney actor to a superstar over the years was right in front of me. It’s like, whoa she worked really hard to get here,” freshman Lettie Lucas said.
When Olivia was 19 years old, she released her first single “Drivers License” which reached number one on the charts. Although she was scared to be a one-hit wonder, she won multiple Grammys and had accomplished much more. She’s released three Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles, two Billboard 200 number-one albums, and eight multi-platinum songs by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Her accolades include an American Music Award, seven Billboard Music Awards, and four MTV Video Music Awards.
“I really enjoyed her first album Sour, as I related to every song. I think the reason I enjoyed GUTS more is because she released it when I was going through a hard time in my life. To hear her words match my current situation meant so much to me, and made me feel like I wasn’t alone,” senior Katelyn Stubblefield said.
With a successful tour and now 2 movies, fans sure are excited to hear more albums and expect more tours and movies.
