Mr. Andrew Weigold
The FBLA of BAHS for 2024-2025
Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is a Bellefonte High club that teaches students leadership skills in the community through objective tests, presentations, and group speaking.
FBLA also holds many fundraisers, including Jar Wars, which raises money for a good cause every year. Other events are discussed in meetings run by the club’s president, senior Amelia Harrington.
“I have been in FBLA for three years. Three years ago I was the secretary for the region. Last year, I was the Co-President and this year I am the president,” Amelia said.
Senior Madisyn Breon, who is treasurer and co-social media ambassador, is another member of the club. She has been in the club for three years as well.
“FBLA has taught me a lot about preparing research presentations and how to exude confidence when talking in front of large groups of people,” Madisyn said.
Math teacher Mr. Jonathan Virgilio runs FBLA for his first time this year. He continues to work hard and lead the students while still giving them a student-run environment.
Senior Annie Cernuska has been a part of the club for three years now. She has learned the importance of business concepts during daily life.
“As a senior who has been applying to universities, my FBLA accomplishments are nationally recognized and help me stand out as a student who sees the value in developing interpersonal skills,” Annie said
FBLA helps over 200,000 students prepare for careers in business. It looks good on resumes, college applications, and more. The club also teaches students communication and test-taking skills based on the events they are involved in.
