The world of the National Basketball Association was erupted to find out that the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks had made a trade involving All Stars Luka Doncic and Anthony Davis.
February 2 would go down as one of the most controversial and shocking days of all time in NBA history. Fans were buzzing because Dallas Mavericks’ star Luke Doncic was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. In exchange for Doncic, the Lakers had given all star power forward and center Anthony Davis.
Nobody could have predicted this to happen; this trade was merely out of the blue. It was an absolute shock to the whole world and even students at Bellefonte High had things to say about it.
“No, this trade did not make sense to me. Yes, AD is second in mvp voting, but Luka is averaging 34/10/9 so I don’t know why they would trade him. I think the Lakers will make it very far in the playoffs and I think the Mavericks totally lost because AD isn’t even playing and they have a ton of injuries,” freshman Connor Auman said.
A trade of this magnitude would have some fans questioning how this makes sense at all. Dallas fans all around the world are calling out Mavericks higher powers that had to do with the concept and agreement of the trade.
“The trade is very confusing and does not make sense considering that Luka Doncic is capable of scoring seventy points in a game and their team is built around him,” a freshman student said.
It seems to many like the Lakers got the higher ground when it came to this trade. When you look at both athletes involved, you see great stats but injuries are a big factor when it comes to this trade Anthony Davis has missed approximately 232 games in his whole career. When you look at Luka he has missed only 91 games.
But when you look at the amount of years and achievements Anthony Davis is surely higher caliber, but right now, not so much. Luka is easily one of the best players in the league today. Everybody expected Luka to spend his whole career with the Dallas Mavericks.
Everyone thought that the duo of Lebron and AD would be dynamic and last forever but that is not the case anymore.
Many believe that the connection between Luka and Lebron will be absolutely generational and as of now Luka is already fitting in in LA. AD has played a couple games with the Mavericks and he is already hurt.
