Can you imagine working in the same building with your sibling? Family and Consumer Sciences teacher Mrs. Shawna Weaver does, with her dear sister, health and physical education teacher Mrs. Shelby Hamilton.
Mrs. Hamilton is described as funny and easygoing. Many students have fun in her classroom, and other teachers enjoy working with her.
“I like Mrs. Hamilton as a teacher due to her infectious positivity and bright outlook on each new day,” freshman Allison Miller said.
Mrs. Hamilton brings light into the classroom with her positive attitude and love for teaching.
“I picked Health and PE in college because I wanted to be a teacher, I enjoy sports, and being outside. I like working with kids and I have taught Kindergarten-to Seniors,” Mrs. Hamilton said.
She enjoys coming to work every day, hoping to brighten someone’s day. She creates an environment for students to have fun and enjoy gym and health classes.
“I have a lot of memories of fun games from gym class and being able to have fun with my friends,” sophomore Madison Kellogg said.
While so many memories are made in class, Mrs. Weaver remembers her childhood memories of her sister. Her favorite is the time they went to dinner at a family-style restaurant and Mrs. Hamilton was attempting to get ice cream.
“Shelby was trying to get her ice cream and yelling over to our family’s table that it wasn’t working. Turns out she wasn’t paying attention, and the ice cream was running out of the machine all over the floor,” Mrs. Weaver said.
Of course, only a sibling would still make fun of her for something so silly. While they live close together, they see each other most at work. They enjoy working together in the same building and wouldn’t change a thing.
Overall, Mrs. Hamilton is a great teacher to have no matter the course. She will continue to lighten up the classroom with her positive attitude and love for teaching.
