Born October 9, 1997 in Savannah, Georgia, Megan Moroney has hit big. After releasing her, Am I Okay? album in 2024, it debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200. Megan emerged as the year’s third biggest debut from a female Country artist.
Megan later went on to win Breakthrough Female Video of the Year, MusicRow”s Breakout Artist of the Year, New Female Artist of the Year, and New Artist of the Year.
Among her winnings, she was nominated for the People’s Choice Country, iHeart, and Billboard Music Awards.
The title of her Am I Okay? album was purposeful. The title matches the reputation she has built with her fans, she wanted to catch the listeners off guard the first time they heard it.
“I’ve branded myself as the emo cowgirl, and so I knew everyone was going to think that this is going to be a really sad song,” Megan said. “If you just see it on paper, you’re like, ‘Oh, no, it’s going to be tough.’ And that’s why we didn’t release ‘Am I Okay,’ the title track, ahead of the album, because I wanted everyone to be surprised once the entire album came out,” Megan said.
Am I Okay? explores the emotional journey of getting through relationships and self-discovery.
On her album, a song titled “Heaven by Noon” was written about the loss of her uncle in the September 11 attacks.
Some of her album’s big hits are “No Caller ID” This song has become a fan favorite. It’s a standout track on the album, and it explores the themes of therapy and the fear of being alone.
On March 20, Megan began her Am I Okay? tour. She is going to places like Toronto, Canada, Tennessee, Washington DC, Georgia, New York, and Pennsylvania.
On June 20, Megan is coming to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to perform. She will perform with Sadie Mclayne.
