Junior Madison Miller has made a big impact on the Bellefonte track and field team. When she began her Track and Field career in seventh grade, coaches knew she was going to make an impact.
“I have known Madison since she was in seventh grade when she joined the junior high track and field team. When she started with the team we saw she was going to be a great addition and we are glad that she has stayed with the program through her years of high school,” Coach Seth Miller said.
Madi specializes in the throwing category. Her coaches admire the work and effort she puts into the sport.
“Coach Schellenberg works with the throwers and she and Madi have a good relationship. This helps Madi become coachable and trust Coach Schellenberg wants nothing more than to see all of the throwers have success, including Madison,” Coach Miller said.
One of Madi’s favorite memories was qualifying for indoor states her sophomore year.
“Madi really studies the throwing events. I think this is what makes her successful in her events,” Coach Miller said.
Madi’s attitude is what makes her a good teammate. She gets along with the entire team and she always has a positive attitude.
“Madison is a positive student-athlete to be around. She brings a lot of fun energy to the throwers and, if she doesn’t have a great day while throwing, she shrugs it off and says “I’ll get it next time,” Coach Miller said.
After high school, Madi plans to continue her career in track and field and possibly throw for Penn State. Overall, Madi is a determined and skilled student when it comes to academics and sports.
