Seniors at Bellefonte High are scrambling to prepare for the next chapter of their lives as Graduation rapidly approaches on June 7. One of these seniors, Avery North, reminiscences about the memories and stories he’s left behind.
Avery is the historian for Orchestra, a member of National Honor Society (NHS), and plays bass in his free time. Outside of school and extracurriculars, Avery partakes in other hobbies.
“I love to be out in nature, and tinker in the garage, “ he said.
Being a senior is often felt with tears and enjoyment, as seniors are leaving their past four years behind. Avery looks back at these years, and reminiscences on his favorite memories.
“I will miss seeing all the friendly faces in the hallways, as it always brightens my day,” he said.
Along these four years, Avery has made his mark on Bellefonte High. Through other students and teachers, Avery’s influence has been positive to everyone who has met him.
“Avery has been a great friend to me for many years, and has always been fun to be round and perform with!” Senior and bandmate Nick Baptista said.
Avery also played in the Rock Studio concerts this year and has made a positive influence on his fellow classmates, and even band director and music teacher Mr. Jeremiah Dobo.
“Avery is incredibly talented and intelligent which makes him a joy to have in music classes. His dry sense of humor and funny interjections always keeps me and the rest of the class on our toes. And wow, he’s an amazing bass player,” Mr. Dobo said.
Another big part of being a senior is preparing to go to college, a task that Avery has already accomplished.
“I will be attending Penn State main campus for Psychology, and I’m excited to create new friendships while still carrying on old ones,” he said.
As the seniors ready themselves to leave underclassmen behind, and the eighth graders begin their move up into the high school, Avery wishes well to all those in the school.
“Be confident with and proud of your passions. Look for the bright side in everything you do.”
As graduation approaches, Bellefonte wishes Avery North well, as he moves on further in his journey.
