What’s a moment you can remember and smile at? If you can’t think of one, maybe it’s time you make a memory that feels just as good! Hozier is going on a tour of the US, from late August to early November, and on September 19, he’s visiting PA at Hershey Park’s central auditorium. If you need a thought to make you smile, go see him in concert!
“Take Me to Church” is a song most people know off the top of their head. This Irish-American artist has written songs that started popular trends, such as his yell in “Northern Attitude”, a song collaboration with Noah Kahan, being used to describe a moment worth remembering.
Hozier is known for making his songs feel real and speaking to the personal lives of his audience.
“There are definitely some very universal elements and I always try to keep it in my songs,” Hozier said in an interview with a staff member of the Polish music database called “Made by Sound”. The comments left by fans on his YouTube platform support this statement, saying things like “This whole band’s energy is AWESOME,” and, “Too Sweet has that perfect mix of soul and depth … I’m all about that raw, real emotion.” These comments have been agreed upon by multiple different users in the replies under that comment.
This grounded artist has also been known to give his fans a safe space to be themselves. While straight himself, he’s shown extreme support in the LGBTQ+ community, and even made a song combating the theme of not wanting to hide your sexuality. While he can’t directly access his social media platforms himself, he’s heard of the adoration his LGBTQ+ fans send his way, and always responds with thankfulness.
Music has been known to bring people together. It’s a tale as old as time. Hozier’s music, through the joy he preaches through his instruments, will do just that at Hershey Park.
