On August 17, 2018, an American teen romance film titled, “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before,” came out as a new movie on Netflix. The film, directed by Susan Johnson, is based on Jenny Han’s 2014 novel of the same name. The cast includes actors and actresses Noah Centineo, Lana Condor, Israel Broussard, and more.

If you didn’t know already, Lana Condor plays the main character, Lara Jean. In the film, Lara Jean has been keeping a big secret from everyone around her. She wrote five love letters to five different boys, and hid them in boxes. One day, her little sister finds those love letters and mails them out to all of the boys. Lara Jean’s exposed love letters wreak havoc on her love life after the boys confront her about the letters.

In my opinion, this was one of the best movies streamed on Netflix since “The Kissing Booth.” Although, the plot reminds me of many romantic rom-coms from the past, this movie will give you a new perspective on teen romance. It is told through Lara Jean, and her experiences with love and break-ups.

Teens, like myself, can easily relate to this movie, which makes it as popular as it has become. Almost every teen can relate to the feelings that Lara Jean goes through. She is faced with issues like heartbreak, and having to choose between two guys. These guys are either Peter, the bad boy, or Josh, the nice guy. In the end, Lara Jean is happy with her decisions she has chosen in her life.
