Alaina Smith has just begun her final year playing on the Bellefonte softball team, and this year she is giving it her all. Alaina is a senior at Bellefonte High and plays for the girls softball team.

Recently, Alaina has committed to Wilson College to continue her academic and athletic career. Alaina doesn’t just like the sport, but the memories and connections she makes with her teammates.

“I can’t think of one particular memory but the most memorable thing for me would have to be all the different players I got to play with throughout the years and the friendships I made along the way,” she said.

Alaina is a hardworking and determined player on the field. No matter where you put her, she will always try her best.

“The qualities that Alaina has to be successful is that she is determined, hard working, and persistent. Whether it is defense or hitting, she continues to strive to be the best she can be,” Coach Erica said.

Though Coach Erica has only known Alaina for around three years, she has seen how much effort Alaina puts into the sport and into making connections with her teammates.

“I have only known her the last three years, but over those years, she has improved very well. She works hard on all aspects of the game and has been doing very great with pitching, defense and hitting,” Coach Erica said.

Alaina puts effort into her sports, and seeing that effort she is giving, continues to rub off on her teammates and makes them want to try harder.

“One thing that makes Alaina a good team player is that she helps others along the way by giving her best effort and keeps on learning the game each and every day. She shares those attributes with others on the team which helps others greatly,” Coach Erica said.

Overall, Alaina is a dedicated and hard working student and player, who continues to prove her dedication to school and sports.
