On October 2, many residents of State College heard loud singing coming from the Bryce Jordan Center (BJC) for Parker McCollum and opener Hudson Westbrook.
“I was so excited to see if Parker and Hudson would do a duet…they did,” senior Makenna Williams said.
Parker and Hudson are both rising country stars with bright futures. The concert went better than expected for fans.
“My experience was absolutely perfect, we got so many good pictures of him and I loved getting to watch them all hang out backstage and watch each other,” Makenna said.
Around 1,370 fans danced and sang along while enjoying the night of their lives with the lively and upbeat artists.
“The crowd was very loud and there were flashing lights. There was a lot of yelling and screaming,” junior Ava Lose said.
Even the crowd was lively and upbeat as Hudson and Parker sang on. They sang songs like “Why Indiana,” “Burn it Down,” “Pretty Heart,” and “Handle on you.”
“Not a single person was sitting down. The atmosphere was amazing and both of them sound even better in person. It was an experience I will never forget,” junior Anika Fetzer said.
After getting Neurovirus, Parker was supposed to bring a little girl on stage to sing with him, but had to leave due to his sickness. That same girl was sitting front row at the BJC.
“It was so cute when Parker brought out a little girl named Riley to sing “Burn It Down” the whole crowd exploded with excitement for her,” Anika said. It was truly a wholesome moment for everyone in the crowd to see a little girl live out her dream.
The BJC is hosting more concerts featuring country artists. Parker and Hudson were just the beginning.
