With the leaves turning and the air getting colder, there are so many things to do in Bellefonte. From fall festivals to train rides and seasonal foods, there are endless ways to get into the fall mood.
We all love hayrides, inflatables, and food; you can find all of those things at The Fall Festival at Talleyrand Park. It will take place on October 25, starting at 10:00 a.m. and ending at 3:00 p.m. They will have food vendors, kids’ activities, hayrides, and so much more. There is also a Halloween parade on the same day.
“The annual Halloween Parade and Talleyrand Fall Fest in October. It’s fun to see the community come together and all the costumes,” history teacher Mr. Matthew Marris said.
There are so many spooky things to do for all of our jump-scare junkies, like the Black Moshannon haunted lake trail. Where you can walk through and experience some frights. There will be candy at the end for some treats after your scare.
Bellefonte has a history of goats that are said to haunt the area, particularly at “Jail Hill,” which is known for its high concentration of spiritual activity and ghost stories due to the former jails in the vicinity. Another haunted area is The Great Mish Mosh, which is an antique store in Bellefonte that is said to have a lot of paranormal activity.
If you want to know more about places like these in Bellefonte, you might enjoy the ghost tours in town given by Matthew Marris.
“I offer ghost tours of Bellefonte each October. My ghost tours and events are a lot of fun (and spooky, of course). I enjoy the storytelling aspect and seeing people’s reactions, ranging from being frightened to laughter. I enjoy leading people through areas, alleys, and stories about Bellefonte that most people don’t experience,” Mr. Marris said.
