Bellefonte Elementary is set to open up in the fall of 2026 for k-5 students, which raises the question of what to expect for the upcoming opening.
As Bellefonte prepares for the opening of the new school superintendent, Dr. Roy Rakszawski helps share some of his excitement.
“Staff can tour the school, but students and visitors will need to wait until it is fully completed. New furniture will arrive in the next few weeks and will be installed throughout the school” Dr. Rakszawski said.
New furniture will surely help spruce up the new building, and visitations could help potential new students, parents, and staff get a feel for the place. However, what other designs are being planned for school?
“A History Hall committee has been working on designing a hall that commemorates the history of Bellefonte, our schools, and community. That will be a wonderful addition to the new school” Dr. Rakszawski stated.
Honoring the community and town could be considered a touching gesture for the people of Bellefonte. After all, a community is a big part of making any new building, let alone a school. The communities part in the build of course, their excitement going forward could be a big part as well.
“From this point forward, I expect there to be a growing sense of anticipation and excitement about moving into the new school. Much planning has already occurred but many things will need to be finalized before summer.” Dr. Rakszawski said.
Much work and thought goes into making a building arguably as important as a school, but that just means that in the end the building will be good for the students to learn and grow. A well built and structured school may raise excitement in both parents and students alike.
“I hope students going to the new school will be excited about the change. They will be making history as the first cohort of students to enter this new, wonderful building. I’m sure many lifelong memories will be made as we move into this new chapter” Dr. Rakszawski stated.
A new school for the community can help create a safe and engaging environment for the students, creating a thriving environment for kids to strive for success.
