The brackets are set for the Women’s College World Series taking place at Devon Park, Oklahoma on May 28, 2026. Reigning champ, Texas is behind Alabama with the second seed. 14 other teams have been selected to play for the regional round.
As of right now, Oklahoma is favored to win with outstanding hitters, clean defense, and strong arms in the circle. A phenomenal freshman, Kendall Wells has set school records such as the most home runs in a single season, and the most home runs in a season as a freshman. As she continues to hit the ball out of the park, it can be expected that she’s intentionally walked or sends the ball deep.
Right behind them, Texas Tech has NiJaree Canady in the circle with a 1.24 ERA and in the batters box they have Kaitlyn Terry with a batting average over .400.
One thing for sure is that pitching roots run deep in Texas as Teagan Kavan is excelling for Texas and as the defending champions–they sure are seeking for a two-pete.
With the number one seed, Alabama has shown no one should count them out just yet. Jocelyn Briski has built the pitchers strikeout by strikeout on track for multiple postseason shutouts.
Jordy Bahl gives Nebraska the skills they need to win. The former Oklahoma pitcher is sure to lead her team to the elite eight.
Arkansas knows how to get girls on base with an on base percentage of .422. The beginning of their lineup shows discipline at the plate waiting for their perfect pitch to crush.
Tennessee has Karlyn Pickens, the fastest pitcher in softball ever throwing her fastball 79.4 mph. They’ve got home advantage and an outstanding coach with the name Karen Weekly.
Finally, Florida has a strong lineup that terrifies even the best of pitchers. The beginning of their lineup is insane. The first 4 hitters carry over 1.000 on base percentage and the lowest batting average is .290.
So far, fans know that this Women’s College World Series will be one of the toughest lineups and the unexpected will happen. Tune in to watch on ESPN!
