Mental health is a very important part of many people’s lives, when people deal with their mental health problems they may go in the wrong direction and don’t truly know how to handle it.
There are many things you could do to figure yourself out like doing a hobby to keep it off your mind, whether it’s sports, percussion, clubs, outdoor activities, and reading or listening to music. They are great ways to cope with mental health, and talking to someone you trust like an adult or trusted peer is a great way to get it off your chest.
When talking to a therapist many people find it hard to open up right away but it’s better if you do because they are there to help and they can’t use your thoughts against you, so it should be easier to talk to them. Then your family or friends should be people you trust and take some of the thoughts from your head.
There are more things you could do to overcome mental health issues like “depression” like building a schedule to have less stress overall, eating healthy, going to the gym, sleeping, and limiting time on screens or social media.
Many people become self conscious over looks as social media can change how people view themselves. Many end up feeling left out trying to fit in.
If you want to do anything to stay away from depression, be yourself, find your people, love yourself, limit screen time, don’t compare yourself to others, live life to the fullest, take in every memory you have. Depression is like drowning, except you can see others breathing.
If you see someone else around you struggling to reach out it doesn’t hurt to check up on someone every now and then. Just ask them bluntly if they’re okay and make sure they know you’re there for them because that can mean a lot to some people.
