Being held under the spotlight this month for his outstanding behavior and popularity among other students, senior Gage Rankin has been known across the school for his activity in soccer, working for the raider store, and being a positive influence.
Gage is extremely energetic and has a good sense of sportsmanship. With Gage’s impact on his fellow players, the team has brought itself to victory many times. The boys soccer coach expresses great enthusiasm in coaching Gage, and praises his kind attitude and stubborn love for soccer.
“He has heart, he loves to play the game of soccer and wants to give everything he has each game for his team.” says Coach.
“I want to become a high school coach,” says Gage.
With good grades — a healthy mix of mid to low 90’s — and an elaborate path for his future in both education and career, Gage paves a model path for students who yearn for further education after receiving their diploma. After graduating from Bellefonte High, Gage has plans for majoring in sports management at Lockhaven University.
“His best trait is how caring he is,” says junior Jacob Mamolen, friend and teammate of Gage Rankins, “He’s just a really kind person, and he really truly cares about his friends.”
Jacob and Gage met freshman year in gym class, and seemed to click the moment they began talking. Jacob’s favorite memory with Gage is described as taking place on the soccer field, where both men were ballboys. As they headed towards the field, they both received a penalty for misconduct, and the two boys laughed it off together.
Overall, Gage Rankins has proven himself to be a good role model for lowerclassmen, and proudly displays an empathetic attitude towards everyone he meets.
