Aubrey Schreppel has set the record straight. Aubrey, a Senior at Bellefonte High, is as we know, the first and only girl to reach 1,000 sets in BAHS Volleyball.
“My biggest accomplishment while playing volleyball is reaching 1,000 assists. From what we know, I am the first setter at Bellefonte to hit 1,000 assists. I am extremely grateful to have gotten to celebrate this with my teammates, family, and friends,” Aubrey said.
After her time at BAHS, Aubrey plans to attend Slippery Rock University, majoring in Psychology with a 3+3 pre-track to Occupational Therapy. One of Aubrey’s favorite memories from her time in high school was the school trip to New York City.
“One of my favorite memories from High School was when we went to New York City this year. We got to visit Ellis Island, Statue Island, and Times Square. I got to spend the day and night with my friends and experience such a cool city,” Aubrey said.
One teacher Aubrey looks up to is English teacher Mrs. Benson. “I love her outlook on life and the way she preaches kindness in everything she does,” Aubrey said.
“Aubrey has been a joy to have in class. She works hard and keeps smiling. She is always positive and willing to lead others. It is obvious that integrity and kindness are important to her and I love to see how she affects others. She has made me feel so welcome and valued in the district and it is students like her that have helped to make my transition so smooth!” Mrs. Benson said.
One of Aubrey’s favorite classes is Government with Mrs. Durney. “My favorite class is Government with Mrs. Durney. She makes government easy for us and is always in favor of her students’ best interests,” Aubrey said.
“Aubrey is such a dedicated student.  She cares so deeply about not only learning the material but being able to apply it.  She is so great to have in class because she asks great questions when she doesn’t understand and she tries her best to make sense of it within her own world,” Mrs. Durney said.
Overall, Aubrey is a well-liked and hardworking student with a well known personality. She hasn’t only beat the record in her sport, but she was kind and humble when she did.
