Art club is one of those things that most people don’t realize has the biggest impact on our school. The Bellefonte High Art club, run by Art teachers, Mrs. Welsh and Mrs. McClure has been a huge success and has had an impact on our school and community.
From painting posters to making decorations for theater productions, this club has been a huge help.
“I think one thing people need to understand about art Club is that it’s a lot more open and a lot less intimidating than a lot of other clubs like you don’t have to come to every meeting it’s so open and we can always do fun stuff or you could just have a free day it is just so fun and free in there and I think a lot of people would enjoy it more if they” Art Club President, Charlotte Coslo said.
The Art club was originally started for kids with further interest in art. Many students brought up that they wanted a place to go outside of the school day to create artwork with friends and to have more flexibility within the lessons.
“After a few years into it, we realized we couldn’t collect dues to help curb the cost of supplies and possible field trips,so we ran it by the board and were officially on the books!” art teacher, Mrs. McClure said.
Overall the Art Club is BAHS’s secret treasure. From bringing together creative minds to inspiring others, this is where the talent shines.
