Former Penn State athlete and Bellefonte Alum, Tyler Lucas, won the MrBeast reality show. He graduated in 2011 from Bellefonte and played wide receiver for Penn State football, later pursuing a career in the military, where he played quarterback for the Air Force.
“Beast Games” is a competitive event on Amazon Prime Video hosted by famous YouTuber, MrBeast. Out of 200 contestants, divided into teams of 100 players, either “strong” or “smart” competed against each other.
Over the course of ten episodes’ worth of challenges, such as puzzles, obstacle courses, and betrayal situations, Lucas managed to make it until the end, where he won against Cory Sims after a game of chance.
With his experience at Penn State and the Air Force football programs, Lucas was a part of the “strong team” where he felt very well prepared to compete. He competed against the very best and came out on top.
He was able to pick the hidden suitcase with a five-million-dollar check among 10 other suitcases, blindfolded.
Seven years before “Beast Games”, he competed in the “Titan Games”, where he and his brother performed together on the show. Although he lost, he did not give up and became a millionaire seven years later.
His plans, according to Yahoo.com, are to retire and spend time with his wife and children.
So no matter where you’ve heard of him, “Beast Games” or Penn State, just remember where he first came from, Bellefonte!
