It is truly a shame that it has come to this point for one of the greatest golfers of all time, Tiger Woods. On March 27, the news broke that Masters champion Tiger Woods had gotten into a solo car accident after crashing his Range Rover around his home on Jupiter Island.
The former Masters champion has had his issues with the law in the past. In 2017, he was found guilty of reckless driving, and two years after that incident in 2017, he went on to win the 2019 Masters championship, which is the most prestigious event in all of golf where golfers can make around one million dollars by coming in last place.
When Woods was pulled over in March, he started to get into an argument with the officer who pulled him over. Woods would not walk over to the cop, and when he finally did come over, he said something that would become a statement that some people have called a “bull-faced excuse.” He approached the officer and said, “Yeah, sorry, I was just on the phone with the president.” Many believe Woods was using his popularity and fame to get out of this situation by bringing the President of the United States, Donald Trump, into the situation. The officer seemed not to care at all.
Tiger was then cuffed and put into the police car and taken to the Martin County jail, where he was bailed out later that same day, which was set at $1,150. Though he is now pretty much a free man, Woods is still pleading not guilty to his DUI accusations.
He announced on March 31, that he would be indefinitely stepping away from professional golf for the foreseeable future.
