Aubrey Barnard, a junior at Bellefonte High, is a huge asset on the Bellefonte Cheer team. This past weekend, she helped lead the team in capturing the District 6 Coed Championship. Not only did Aubrey help to grab this district championship, but she also helped in the 2023 District win.
“My biggest accomplishment is winning districts freshman year.” Aubrey said.
One teacher Aubrey looks up to most is Child development teacher, Mrs. Amy. Aubrey has been taking Child Development since her freshman year, and has gotten to work alongside Mrs. Amy for all three years.
“I have a lot of favorite things about Aubrey. I love how Aubrey is unique and doesn’t change her personality to fit in with others. She is a little bit sweet but also can be sassy. She is also hard-working,” Mrs. Amy said.
Aubrey is definitely a character you won’t forget. The memories she has made during her time at BAHS, like traveling to Florida with her teammates for a cheerleading competition, or just always having a smile on her face has impacted many.
“My favorite memory of Aubrey is kind of sad….. It was the week after Nate Dan passed away. We all sat outside together and cried. I will never forget that day or the girls who were in that class because they showed up for each other during that very sad time,” Mrs Amy said.
Aubrey doesn’t only like cheerleading, but she also spends time with her friends and being in a fun environment.
“My favorite memory was this season when she went into the tumble lines and did a backward roll,” Cheerleading Coach “Skip” Headings said.
Overall, Aubrey is determined to do well in her sports, and never fails to make all of her friends have a smile on their face.
