Known for her skills on the mat, Victoria has pinned a spot on the Bellefonte Girls Wrestling team. Victoria is a Senior here at Bellefonte High, she has wrestled match after match and gone to many tournaments over the United States.
“One of my biggest accomplishments is placing at tournaments even though this season is only my second year. I started my junior year and I had no idea on how to compete or what the rules are. This season I plan on placing at districts and going to regionals.” Victoria said.
One of Victoria’s favorite memories was attending the Southern Tier Memorial Tournament in Elmira New York and becoming closer with her other teammates.
“Tne teacher that I really look up to is Dr. Martin because he helped me push myself academically to be my best as well as helping me with understanding of the economy which is useful to my future. Dr. Martin also shows how hard work will truly get you far in life and if you put your mind to something and work hard without shortcuts you will be blessed with what you want.” Victoria said.
After high school Victoria plans on attending West Penn Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA. She plans to work for her associates degree in nursing and then go for her BSN directly afterwards. She plans to work in NICU or Labor and Delivery in the Allegheny Health Network Hospital.
Victoria is very connected to her teachers and coaches, while looking up to Dr, Matron and Mr, Maney, she has learned that even though it will be hard, she will never give up on her dreams and will continue to work hard to achieve it.
“Wrestling has brought me back to my faith in God and I believe that being a nurse is a way I can serve the Lord and help sick and injured people heal and recover. Thanks to wrestling, Mr. Maney, and Dr. Martin I believe that although nursing school will be really hard, they have taught me so many life lessons and skills that I believe I will have no issue in med school and I will be able to put my priorities straight as well as having good time management.” Victoria said.
