Senior Jackson Long has definitely made his mark on Bellefonte wrestling. As a senior, Jackson has reached 100 career wins and is a force to be reckoned with.
Jackson has been wrestling for 13 years. He and his twin brother Wyatt started wrestling because of their older brother, Gage.
Being a student athlete can be difficult; something that is even more difficult is being a multi-sport student athlete. Jackson has shown his dedication to football and wrestling for Bellefonte. He has achieved so much on the mat and on the field. He has received recognition for all- state football and has had a lot of success in wrestling this year.
Jackson is a big leader for the Bellefonte wrestling team. He has taken charge of his role as a leader this year.
“He has been a consistently hard worker in the practice room. He has led by example, and in turn, he has elevated his level of wrestling,” says Bellefonte wrestling Coach, Michael Maney.
Jackson is a very hard-working athlete and has shown that he is willing to go the extra mile. Hardworkers like Jackson can really uplift others on a team and encourage them to work hard as well.
“In order to lead, you have to first hold yourself to a certain standard, and Jackson has done that thus far this season,” said Coach Maney
Jackson has shown just how hard-working he is with the time he has put into wrestling this summer. His season has really reflected his hard work. This past summer, he qualified for the Junior National Championship in Fargo, ND.
This Season Jackson has a 35-5 record. He won the District 6 Class AAA Wrestling Championship in his weight class and helped Bellefonte place third as a team.
Jackson has qualified for states, which are held at the GIANT Center in Hershey, PA, on March 5-7, 2026.
